The second week of the holidays was spent on Stradbroke Island which is only a little ferry hop away from Brisbane. The weather was just perfect: mostly sunny with a clear blue sky and a gentle welcoming breeze. Victor saw two green flashes during his early morning walks and the whales were swimming along the coast.

Nearly empty beaches were welcoming happy kids (and less yound kids) who spent their morning swimming,

surfing, endlessly playing with the sand and having fun.

The afternoon, games were played,

books were read,

avid catching up discussions were taking place and ice-creams were licked.

We all tried our luck at cricket

and enjoyed late afternoon walks along the beach.

A very enjoyable week went by leisurely but far too quickly and it was alreday time to say goodbye to Grizelda, Malcolm, Amanda, Dylan and Shaun. Thanks so much for coming all the way to visit us.
